SPECIES

A VISIT TO ANY OF THE GREAT CITIES IN THE WORLDS OF Star Wars overwhelms the senses. Voices chatter in countless different languages. The smells of cooking in dozens of different cuisines mingle with the odors of crowded streets and poor sanitation. Buildings in myriad architectural styles display the diverse origins of their inhabitants.

And the people themselves-people of varying size, shape, and color, dressed in a dazzling spectrum of

styles and hues-represent many different species, from diminutive bothans and stalwart cereans to majestic twi'leks and towering wookiees, mingling among a variety of human ethnicities.

Inside this RPG there are 26 different species/races to choose from. One of which, the droid, has 5 different variants. Play as a wookie, chiss, sith pureblood and even jawa or ewok.

CLASSES

ADVENTURERS ARE EXTRAORDINARY PEOPLE, DRIVEN BY A THIRST for excitement into a life that others would never dare lead. They are heroes, compelled to explore the dark places of the world and take on the challenges that lesser women and men can't stand against.

Class is the primary definition of what your character can do. It's more than a profession; it's your character's calling. Class shapes the way you think about the world and interact with it and your relationship with other people and powers in the galaxy. A fighter, for example, might view the world in pragmatic terms of strategy and maneuvering, and see herself as just a pawn in a much larger game. A consular, by contrast, might see himself as a willing servant of the Force. While the fighter has contacts in a mercenary company or army, the consular might know a number of Jedi or Sith who share his faith. Additionally, including 20 backgrounds to enhance these classes roleplaying and mechanics.

SW5e contains 10 well-designed core classes, each with their own subclasses. Some subclasses focus on using tech weapons and powers, others focus on the use of the force. The force uses a variant similar to the Wotc DMG point variant for their casting. Which fits really well compared to traditional magic casting. Whether you're force-sensitive, throwing lightning or a technically savvy armstech, you’re gonna find something that appeals to all play styles.

FEATS

A feat represents a talent or an area of expertise that gives character special capabilities. It embodies training, experience, and abilities beyond what a class provides. At certain levels, your class gives you the

Ability Score Improvement feature. Using the optional feats rule, you can forgo taking that feature to take a feat of your choice instead.

With over 50 feats available, some new some you may recognize. There is no limit on the customization options available to each player. No matter how strange or wacky their concept may be.

WEAPONS AND EQUIPMENT

SW5e has a vast variety of equipment from bowcasters to jetpacks. There will be no shortage of gear to outfit your character with.

Character Concept:

A Path to Darkness

Your character descends from a long line of strong and honorable magic users. From an early age, you have aspired to study magic and become the best spellcaster your lineage has to offer. You left your home to train under mages of astounding renown and power. Believing that first-hand experience would allow you to exceed your family's line. After much diplomacy and a bit of bribery, you were brought before a master. Your master warned you of your shortcomings, and how it could lead to a darker path. One that you could not turn away from. Those who dabble in magic for sheer power, are liable to fall to the darker arts. Of course, you believed they feared your strength. That’s why they insisted you weren't ready and refused to teach you all they knew. You left your master, believing they were holding you back from your true potential. You have set out to learn and discover spells that will allow you to reach your true potential.

Monster Variant:

The HK series battleforged is a combination of an assassin and infiltration construct. The series designation stands for “Hero Killer,” befitting their primary functions as assassins.

HK 4D7 - Assassin Battleforged

Origin Stablock: Assassin

Lost Features: Shortsword, light crossbow, multiattack applies to both ranged and melee attacks.

New Features:

Laser Blade. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: + (1d6+3) piercing damage, and the target must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw, taking 24 (7d6) radiant damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Blaster Rifle. Ranged Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, range 80/320 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d8 +3 ) piercing damage, and the target must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw, taking 24 (7d6) radiant damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Reaction.

Reactive Shield (1/day). When the battleforged is hit by an attack or targeted by homing missiles, it can use its reaction to create a kinetic barrier. Until the start of its next turn, the battleforged has a +5 bonus to AC, including against the triggering attack, and it takes no damage from homing missiles.

Encounter:

A Heroes Ballad

An ally and friend of the heroes approach them during their downtime. They have someone they would like to introduce the heroes too. A wandering minstrel named Enilin “Sparrow” Quick (M, minstrel (CA)) has been wandering the local area in search of inspiration nameley, tales of heroic feats, and daring adventures. The party’s ally can think of no one better qualified to quench the minstrel's thirst for tales and urges the characters to regale Enilin with their greatest exploits. Upon meeting Enilin, he asks that the part share their experience in the town square at dusk, for the entire town to see. Here the characters are given the opportunity to put on a fantastic show. This can be done through poems, dance, magical effects, singing, or all of the above. The characters must succeed four skill checks before gaining three failures.

On a success, Enilin and the crowd finds their story riveting and wooting and cheering. Enilin will go on to perform the story during his travels and add it to his book to be available in libraries.

On a failure, Enilin and the crowd find the story lackluster and hardly exciting. Fruit and vegetables are tossed at them and they are booed out of the town square.

Magic Item:

Plasma Grenade

Wondrous, Uncommon

Grenades can be set to detonate on impact or with a timer that causes them to explode on initiative count of your choice (losing all ties). As an action, you can throw a grenade at a point you can see within 60 feet + your Strength score. Each creature within 10 feet must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes 3d6 radiant damage on a failed save, or half as much as on a successful one. This item is destroyed.

Dungeon Master Tip:

Unconscious Threat

Let’s be honest, being dropped to zero hit points isn’t really that big of a deal. A simple healing potion jammed down your throat or a healing word, and you’re right back up and at it again. This sort of makes falling unconscious, not really that big of a deal for most characters. Because of this, if the barbarian knows the cleric can pick him right back up again, the barb will likely do something a bit more reckless when they are low on hit points. We propose a few new options to make this a bit more terrifying and encourage the players to look out for their character’s health and well-being a bit more.

When a character goes unconscious and is forced to make a saving throw. On a failed, save, the failure stays with them until they finish a short or long rest, depending on how dangerous you want it. This simple technique can bring a bit of fear to falling unconscious and hopefully drive the players to act with a bit more concern for their characters.

Alternatively, you could impose a Constitution saving throw for every failure with a moderate DC such as 15. On a failure, the character suffers a level of exhaustion. Now this is a bit harsher than the previous example. But in either case, the characters are punished for allowing themselves to fall unconscious on the battlefield.

Player Tip: Don’t be a Dick

Animated Tokens

We’ve talked in the past about using a screenshot of a heroforge character to create a cool character token. Did you know that you can easily bring this image to life in a very simple and easy way? The myheritage.com/deep-nostalgia feature can do just this. Using its complex program, it can take a still image and give it a bit of movement and animation such as head swaying and blinking. This may not seem like much. But once you toss it into your Virtual Table Top of your choice, you will never go back to a mundane token again!

The Brewski Jubilee is a one-shot downtime adventure where the party happens upon a town about to celebrate The Brewski Jubilee, a harvest festival. It's main event, The Hopstacle Course. A fun romp for the entire party.
